The immersive experience is very similar to the Immersive Van Gogh exhibition in mid-2023 which was a huge 360-degree interactive space that had a gallery featuring the artworks prior to the theatre show. Both the Van Gogh and this Disney experience were created by a Lighthouse Immersive who specialise in merging art and technology together to give a whole new innovative immersive experience. And boy did they deliver!

After a bag check at the entrance of the Sands Theatre, you will see the giant inflatable Mickey Mouse! Snap away as many photos of you and your party before you enter the gallery. Do note that once you enter the gallery, you can't return out again so get all the photos you can. In lieu of Frozen's 10th anniversary, there is also a life-sized Elsa and Anna from Frozen 2 set up near the entrance of the gallery. I'm biased to the second movie so I had to take a pic with them haha.

Here in the gallery, you can learn about the techniques used by animators and filmmakers in the early days of Disney - I love re-learning about the multiplane camera every time. Learn about some of the animators behind your favourite Disney films, major classics like Encanto, Princess and the Frog and Lion King.

There are also tables for kids of 'all ages' 😉 to have a hand at bringing some classic Disney characters to life on paper! Here's me drawing Mickey Mouse; I was so into it, I entered my own world. Pro-animator tip: Leave the eyes to colour in LAST, it is said this step brings your drawing to life, so we like to leave that for the last 🤭.

Spend as much time as you can in this space, soak it all up because once the ushers say it's time to enter the theatre, there's no coming back. (It's a one way route) Oh but the theatre, you would want to get in and get yourself a good spot to sit for the best views. The space was twice the size of the Van Gogh experience and it really felt like a 360-degree immersion! The floor is interactive the entire show so don't be afraid to stand up and interact, play, sing-along & have fun! Oh, and keep an eye on those interactive wristbands as the lights dance along with the music.

The music was simply enchanting, bringing back so many fond memories from the first times watching these films, the emotions felt when tear-jerkers like "I See the Light" and "Show Yourself" and "How Far I'll Go" were heard for the first time, my makeup almost didn't make it.

I'm not going to spoil the entire show but trust me when I say, you're going to have a blast. Even better if you have a fellow Disney fan with you to karaoke with you! The interactive segments and stations of this event were Disney-level, I loved them; very reminiscent of how it's like at the theme parks. I highly recommend this for families with/without children who go crazy for Disney.

Sadly all good things must come to an end and so will this show. BUT your part doesn't end here. Let's all play our part and be responsible. There are bins at the exit of the theatre for you to deposit your wristbands, please don't throw garbage or your VIP tags for heaven's sake. The wristbands are made for multiple uses and since they only light up & interact with the show, guests can give them back to the organisers to be reused for the next shows.

Full disclosure, everything written here is based on my visit on 21 Nov 2023, whether the event organisers decide to change any of the procedures and processes further down the event, I wouldn't know. But do check with the crew when you're there if you're unsure, everyone was very friendly and professional. For more information check out either the Marina Bay Sand webpage or Base Entertainment Asia's webpage.
